monoliths

‘Monoliths’ is a surreal response to modern architectural development projects in suburban England, with these templated structures and repetitive building styles, towns and cities are beginning to morph into one. Highlighting similar structures and forms to blend into an image that could look no different to the blueprints from which they were constructed. Printed onto material taken from the scene of the images creation this creates a conceptual link between the imagery and the physicality of the prints they created.

royal engineers archive

Working with the archive provided by The Royal Engineer’s Museum in Gillingham, these darkroom prints bring together the individuals and sites that formed the foundations for Medway. Printed onto fibre darkroom paper to emphasise the physicality of the Museum’s archive, these surreal prints pull from the influences of the military in the construction of 1900s Medway.
